Daily average aluminium output falls in May

Daily average primary aluminium output excluding China fell to 68,100 tons in May, against a revised 68,400 tons in April, data from the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) showed Thursday. Global production for May was 2.112 million tons against a revised 2.052 million tons in April.
In China, daily production in May rose to 57,000 tons, up from 56,900 tons in April. Total production in May was 1.766 million tons, up from 1.707 million tons in the previous month, the IAI said.
