
China’s exports of unwrought aluminium and aluminium products increased 12.9 per cent year-on-year in the first four months of 2019, showed data from China Customs released on Wednesday May 7. Total exports came in at 1.94 million tonnes.

Unwrought aluminium and aluminium products export from China stood at 498,000 tonnes in April. The figure was down 48,000 tonnes or 8.8 per cent from March’s export of 546,000 tonnes. Exports in April increased 10.4 per cent from April 2018.
In another update from Shanghai Metals Market, China exported 245,100 tonnes of aluminium sheets/plates and strips in March. Exports rose 4 per cent from a year ago and 42 per cent from February, according to data from China Customs
Export of aluminium sheets/plates and strips in March shrank 0.3 per cent from 246,000 tonnes in January. The year-on-year growth in March was 16 percentage points lower from January.
