
World aluminium output dropped sharply in November 2017 compared to the volume recorded in the same period previous year. According to the data released by the International Aluminium Institute, total aluminium output globally stood at 4.714 million tonnes in November.
The volume is lower by 8.3 per cent from November 2016 figure i.e. 5.145 million tonnes.

Month-on-month data reveals a drop in the global aluminium output as well. From 4.957 million tonnes in October, the volume has declined to 4.714 million tonnes in November last year.
China can be seen as the strongest trigger in this production drop. Aluminium production in China decreased from 2.54 million tonnes in October to 2.35 million tonnes in November 2017.
According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics data, primary aluminium output in the country dropped 16.8 per cent year-on-year.
Total output from January to November stood at 29.54 million tonne, up 1.7 per cent from the corresponding period previous year.
