China's aluminium semi-finished and finished products exports surge in June and H1 2017

<p>According to the export import data released by the General Administration of Customs on July 24, China's exports of aluminium semis and finished products for June 2017 increased by around 20 per cent on year-on-year basis, while exports for the first six months of 2017 surged by 6 per cent and 20 per cent respectively from the same period last year.</p> <p>{newsStudioGallery}</p> <p>If we look at the estimated figures for H1 2017 versus H1 2016, the export volumes of aluminium extruded products (read aluminium bar rods and profiles) by China reveal the following trends:</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/chart-25-I.png" alt="News" width="517" height="319" /></p> <p>As per the Customs data, total aluminium semi-finished product export by Asia&rsquo;s largest aluminium producer and consumer stood at 400,000 tonnes in June 2017, up 17 per cent YoY, while the volume reached 2.13 million tonnes during the initial six months of 2017, up 6 per cent YoY. Export of aluminium bar rods and profiles by the country, on the other hand, witnessed a drop in June and H1 2017. The volumes stood at 74,377 tonnes (-26% YoY) and 401,014 tonnes (-31% YoY) in June and H1 2017 respectively.</p> <p>{googleAdsense}</p> <p>Export volumes of other aluminium semi-finished products surged higher from the corresponding period previous year.</p> <p>In H2 2017, aluminium extruded product export by China is estimated to rise on a year-on-year basis.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/chart-25-II.png" alt="News" width="517" height="319" /></p> <p>The total aluminium structure and components export by China rose to 75,960 tonnes in June 2017 (+20% YoY). In H1 2017, the volume was up by 20 per cent YoY to 432,882 tonnes. Aluminium stranded wire and cable exports surged to 20,354 tonnes and 109,900 tonnes in June 2017 and H1 2017 respectively. &nbsp;</p>
