China, India Aluminum Prices Drop on the Day

Dropping 1.5 percent, the cash price of primary Indian aluminum was the biggest mover on our aluminum price index for Oct. 16, 2012.
On the LME, the primary aluminum cash price fell 1.3 percent to $1,950 per metric ton. Also on the LME, the 3-month price of aluminum declined 1 percent to $1,974 per metric ton.
Chinese aluminum prices were mixed for the day.
The price of Chinese aluminum billet declined 0.3 percent. After a couple of days of decreasing prices, the Chinese aluminum cash price held steady.
For the fifth consecutive day, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held flat. The price of Chinese aluminum bar held steady.
