Belgium’s export of Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strips remains enterprising during 2017-20

The economy of Belgium is a modern, capitalist economy. It has capitalised on the country's central geographic location, highly developed transport network, and diversified industrial and commercial base. Belgium is the first country to undergo an industrial revolution on the continent of Europe in the early 19th century and has since developed an excellent transportation infrastructure of ports, canals, railways, and highways to integrate its industry with that of its neighbours.

Belgium has mastered its industrial sector by importing raw materials or semi-finished goods and converting them to full finished goods for export-ready.

The country’s total export of Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strips during 2017-19 was recorded at 797,424 tonnes, while revenue earned in this time stood at $2.38 billion.

In 2017 the export reflected at 218,677 tonnes and the total revenue generated remained at $661.49 million.

Belgium’s Aluminium Plates, Sheets and Strips during 2018 have shown growth by 37.74% as the total export volume stood at 301,211 tonnes. The revenue generation also saw a rise of 35.62%, as the total foreign revenue earned stood at $897.12 million.

In 2019 the aluminium plates, sheets and strips export saw a dip, as the total export remained at 277,536 tonnes and the revenue generation also slowed down and remained at $828.08 million.

The projection for 2020 has been estimated positive as the export might rise to 320,910 tonnes and the revenue is expected to jump at $971.93 million.

The total volume of export during 2017-20 might stand at 1.11 million tonnes and revenue generation is expected to be at $3.35 billion.

Belgium has been exporting aluminium plates, sheets and strips to multiple countries like Algeria, Australia, Austria, Benin, Bosnia Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Cameroon, China, Colombia, Ivory Coast, Congo, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, etc.
