The latest hike in price came into effect on July 30, marking the second consecutive increase in Vedanta’s aluminium prices. PyroGenesis Canada reports double revenue in Q2 2020, thanks to aluminium Drosrite contract
On Wednesday, July 29, PyroGenesis Canada Inc. reported that its revenue doubled in just three months of the second quarter of 2020 ended June 30, as its contract with waste management company Drosrite International LLC paid off. Alumina production in North America grows by 6% M-o-M in June 2020; South America’s output lowers by 4%
In June 2020, the alumina production (including metallurgical-grade alumina) in North America stood at 223,000 tonnes, up by 6.19 per cent month-on-month from 210,000 tonnes, according to the data released by the International Aluminium Institute. However, on a year-on-year basis, the production in June stood down by 6.30 per cent from 238,000 tonnes. As per the IAI data, the alumina production in North America in Q2 2020 declined quarter-on-quarter by 3.72 per cent from 672,000 tonnes to 647,000 tonnes, and over the year by 9.76 per cent from 717,000 tonnes. China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment has issued the tenth batch of metals scrap import quotas for 2020 on Monday, July 27, allowing an additional 3,970 tonnes of high-grade aluminium scrap to enter into China, according to Shanghai Metals Market report.
