Angul Aluminium Park’s infrastructure work to be ready by March 2021: State Govt. of Odisha, India

Angul Aluminium Park, a joint venture of Nalco and Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco), has positioned March 2021 as the deadline to complete infrastructure works by State Govt. of Odisha, India.

As per reports, the state government has started receiving investment scheme in aluminium downstream industries; importance has been given towards speedy completion of the infrastructure works at the project site.

Sanjay Singh, Idco Chairman-cum-Managing Director lately visited the site and directed officials-in-charge to diligently complete the infrastructure works in the coming five months.

Singh said: “Work on infrastructure development within the proposed Aluminium Park is going on in full swing. The proposed park will be ready by March next year. Instructions have been issued accordingly. Though land acquisition for the project has been completed, infrastructure works like civil works, construction of approach road, water supply, electricity connection and other related works are being taken up on a priority basis."

“Spread over 223 acres, the proposed Aluminium Park is considered as a major infrastructure boost for the aluminium downstream industries. Investors in the Aluminium Park will directly obtain molten aluminium from the Nalco’s smelter. Several investors have evinced interest to set up their facilities in the proposed aluminium park”, said Singh.

The development cost of the project stands at INR 99.60 crore, which includes Govt. of India’s grant of INR 33.44 crore.

In August 2015, the Govt. of India has approved the project. As per an official source, Angul Aluminium Park is featured with have some exclusive common facilities for the investors like aluminium product evaluation centre with full-fledged tool room, testing facilities and evaluation and prototype development facilities.

The Aluminium Park project in Odisha has been developed with a theme of plug and play infrastructure that signifies a well-designed and ready to move-in infrastructure facility.
