
The Indo-Italian Metal Hub seminar was inaugurated today in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. The first-day’s programme titled “Aluminium Age- Smart Metals, Finance and the Industrial Parks of the Third Millennium” started with the welcome address of Mr S.K.Dash, Treasurer- Aluminium Association of India & Executive Director (Business Development & R&D), NALCO.

Mr. Kamal Prakash, Director Jiwanram Sheoduttrai Group, was the Special Guest for the day. Other guests of honour for the session were Mr. Damiano Francovigh, Italian Consul General in India, Mr. Maurizio Sala, President Amafond, representing the Associations: Amafond, Assomet, Assofond, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, CMD, IDCO, and Ms. Francesca Bruni, President Art Valley. Mr. Sanjeev Chopra, Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Principal Secretary to the Government, Department of Industries, Government of Odisha was the Chief Speaker for the day.

An honorary Membership on behalf of Assomet, Assofond, Amafond was awarded to Nalco higher officials in the first half of the event. They also signed an LOI for potential collaborations at the upcoming aluminium park at Angul.
The inaugural session was followed up by three back to back roundtable meetings. The first session centred on the theme- Aluminium Business: Global scenario and East-West future prospects, was chaired by Prof Alberto Cavicchiolo GM, Art Valley.
His speech was followed by a special presentation by Mr. Vikas Devnani, VP Al Circle. The presentation was dedicated to the Virtual Aluminium Ecosystem which serves as a one-stop reference point for the global aluminum industry. After Mr. Devnani, Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director, JNARDDC took the dias. He chaired the second session themed around Aluminium Park Ventures.

The third session on Automotive, Food and Pharma Packaging and Aluminium: Future Prospects, saw Dr. B.K.Satpathy, Visiting Scientist, IIT, chairing a roundtable discussion.

The series of roundtable meetings ended with Session IV: Industrial and Financial Challenges. Mr. K.C. Samal, Director (Finance), Nalco, chaired the session. Mr. Abhrajit Chatterjee, Uniseven, a JS Group company, participated in both the sessions.
