Alumex PLC, Sri Lanka’s leading manufacturer of aluminium extrusion products, has strengthened its commitment to supply chain excellence by entering into a strategic partnership with the Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM). This collaboration was officially established through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with Alumex PLC Managing Director Pramuk Dediwela and ISMM President Jayantha Gallehewa in attendance.
Under the MoU, ISMM will grant institutional membership to Alumex, while Alumex will extend priority access to ISMM students by offering internships and job placements. These opportunities will enable students to gain practical experience in supply chain management within Alumex’s advanced manufacturing environment.
Alumex PLC Managing Director Pramuk Dediwela stated, “At Alumex, we believe that a strong and resilient supply chain is fundamental to the success of the manufacturing sector. By partnering with ISMM, we are investing in the future of Sri Lanka’s supply chain industry while nurturing the next generation of professionals who will drive innovation and operational efficiency. This partnership is an important milestone for Alumex PLC as we continue to integrate knowledge-sharing and industry exposure into our operational framework.”
This partnership with ISMM reflects Alumex’s continued dedication to nurturing collaboration between industry and academia, bridging the divide between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. Through this initiative, Alumex aims to actively support sustainable partnerships that address the evolving demands of both the academic sphere and the industrial sector.
Additionally, the partnership will support the delivery of tailored training programmes at preferential rates, equipping supply chain professionals with the latest industry insights and skills. To further enrich learning, ISMM students will benefit from guided field visits to Alumex’s production and supply chain facilities, offering valuable exposure to real-world operational best practices.
Through its active engagement in industry-academic collaborations, Alumex PLC continues to strengthen its leadership in Sri Lanka’s manufacturing sector while playing a key role in driving the country’s economic and industrial development.
The signing ceremony also featured senior representatives from prominent industry players, including Unilever Sri Lanka, Nestlé Lanka, Hayleys Advantis, Hemas Manufacturing, and Ceylon Agro Industries (Prima Group).
The event was graced by ISMM’s leadership team and esteemed representatives from partner organisations, highlighting a pivotal move towards advancing Sri Lanka’s supply chain landscape. As a prominent force in the country’s manufacturing sector, Alumex acknowledges the vital importance of a robust and future-ready supply chain in promoting industrial growth and sustainability.
