Aditya Aluminium installs solar-powered streetlights in Odisha villages

<p>Aditya Aluminium, a unit of&nbsp;AV Birla group&nbsp;company Hindalco Industries, has initiated a project in a partnership with the Odisha government to provide an uninterrupted supply of electricity to the villages of Sambalpur district.</p> <p><img style="vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/36w-solar-street-light-500x500.jpg" alt="news" width="448" height="300" /></p> <p>The project involves in&nbsp;providing&nbsp;safe and&nbsp;sustainable electric energy&nbsp;to four villages - Bhursipali, Bhalupatra, Tileimal and Pitapali.</p> <p>Aditya Aluminium&nbsp;has already installed 28 solar-powered street lights in four villages. At least 550 people from this electrification work have been benefited.</p> <p>{googleAdsense}</p> <p>Bibhu&nbsp;Prasad Mishra, chief operating officer (COO) of Aditya Aluminium, said, "Safe and sustainable electric energy has already been distributed for free to these villages. The well-lit streets mean that the villagers can now move in and around their neighbourhood without fear after dark. Their children could study under the solar powered street lights.</p> <p>He further added: &ldquo;In addition, the village youth have been trained to carry out repair and maintenance activity in case of an emergency."&nbsp;</p>
