2018 Jeep Wrangler uses aluminium components to cut down weight

The new 2018 Jeep Wrangler, which is expected to be in the market in the first three months of 2018 has all grown up since its inception 75 years back. A globally popular vehicle born out of necessity became a household name for its functionality and its appeal to the adventurers, back country explorers and also for some city style icons.

The vehicle is the symbol of the Jeep brand, one of the most significant assets of its owner, Fiat Chrysler. The 2018 model has been re-engineered for better performance and convenience, using aluminium in some of its key components to keep the weight low and to enhance the performance. The new jeep has added new engine choices while maintaining its iconic look.

The new Jeep Wrangler has metamorphosed into a sophisticated SUV without losing its original charm and versatility. The new model has been redesigned both in indoor and outdoor to add sophistication and comfort. The belt line has been lowered window size has been increased to offer better all-round visibility. New lightweight, high strength aluminium doors have been added in order to reduce weight by nine kg in the front and seven kg in the rear. This is an incredible weight reduction for a rugged off-roader vehicle. The design features new door pins for easy installation and removal.

The grille has been redesigned and swept back at the top to improve the aerodynamics, without spoiling the original design. The Wrangler still comes with a choice of two or four-door models with the new design lines appearing in both.
