Fiberglass Mesh

Fiberglass Mesh is used for filtration and uniform distribution of molten aluminium before casting. During aluminium melting and handling, oxides can form when molten metal comes into contact with oxygen. Fiberglass filter mesh helps remove these oxides before casting, supporting cleaner and more controlled metal flow.

The fiberglass fabric is treated with resinous chemicals to stabilise the weave, allowing molten aluminium to pass through the mesh during filtration. The number of yarns influences the strength of the fabric as well as the flow rate of liquid aluminium. Smoke-free fabrics are also available with thermal treatment.

Fiberglass filter fabrics are available in plain and leno weave constructions. Plain weave is intended for finer filtration, while leno weave provides a more open mesh and improved dimensional stability. Fabrics can be supplied in widths up to 1500 mm, with cut pieces available in different sizes and shapes.
