The response to IBAAS 2022 conference and exhibition is overwhelming as about 60 companies/organizations have already confirmed their participation. More than 50 abstracts and about 30 technical papers have been received so far for this mega bauxite, alumina and aluminium event. Organizers are expecting about 250 delegates from all over the world and arrangements are being made at Courtyard Marriott in Raipur for the 4 days conference and exhibition. Apart from the primary and secondary aluminium producers, technology suppliers, and equipment manufacturers, organizations like the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC) and Material Recycling Association of India (MRAI) are sending several representatives.

Two days of special Aluminium programs are planned during this 10th IBAAS conference. The first workshop will be organized by ASI on 16th September on Aluminium sustainability and its certification programme and standards, which will be useful for both primary and secondary aluminium producers. Recently JNARDDC has been nominated by Govt of India to carry out the functions earmarked for Metal Recycling Authority (MRA). JNARDDC in association with MRAI and IBAAS is organizing a one-day brainstorming session on non-ferrous metal recycling in India on the 17th of September. JNARDDC is inviting representatives of the Ministry of Mines, National Institution for Transforming India (NITI AAYOG) and other policymakers of India for this special program. All secondary metal manufacturers, stakeholders, traders, and businesses that deal with scraps of aluminium, copper, lead, and zinc are invited to participate in these important recycling sessions.
On the first day of the conference, CEOs and top executives of leading aluminium companies and organizations will present keynote addresses on various aspects of the aluminium industry. There will be key papers on primary and secondary aluminium production in India and issues/opportunities of this industry would be highlighted. Conference sponsors and exhibitors will be given the opportunity to talk about their companies and products. On the second day of the conference, 3 parallel technical sessions on bauxite-alumina, aluminium smelter and downstream will be held and papers will be presented by leading experts. Companies like AKW, BOKELA, CRU, Carborundum Universal, FLSmidth, Fives, Gaudfrin, GEA, METSO-OUTOTEC, NORSK HYDRO, OSISoft, RIA, TOKAI-COBEX and WORLEY have confirmed their participation. On 18th September, a post-conference visit to HINDALCO’s Lapanga aluminium smelter at Jharsuguda is being organized. Please visit the website http://www.ibaas.info for details.
