Trucks wearing aluminium accents getting ready to make debut in 2018

The year 2018 is shaping up to be a big year for truck lovers. All the new 2019 models are being readied to be unveiled sometime around next year. The Detroit auto show being the carmakers’ favourite platform for showcasing their new machines will definitely see a few of these launches. Company specs say many of these new-age trucks will wear significant aluminium accents, the material of choice for lightweighting. Following are the top two trucks with aluminium exteriors awaited in 2018:

The 2019 GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado is the first truck to make a grand exit from the GM trucks’ stable. It is expected to arrive with an updated EcoTec3 powertrains and 10 speed automatics co-developed with Ford, and possibly a new diesel engine. There are also credible hints of the truck bearing jewel-like futuristic headlights and “beefier” new grilles on the traditional truck box shape.

Aluminium body panels on the 2019 GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado are also very likely though not on the bed. Aerodynamic and structural gains will be included along with enhanced interiors based on digital instrumentation.

Another new 2019 truck with reasonably large amount of aluminium that is readying to make debut next year is- 2019 Ram.

The truck will have aluminium in hood and tailgate. Under the hood there will be the highly capable 5.7L Hemi V8 or the 3.6L Pentastar V6 that will transfer power via an eight-speed automatic. A 3.0L diesel engine is expected to re-emerge in the truck adding extra power to the machine, reports confirm.
