Pharmaceutical and retail sector to drive packaging market in India

<p>Pharmaceutical packaging in the world as well as in India is becoming more innovative in order to be convenient and user-friendly. The group supplies its products to numerous multinational corporations and local market leaders in the food, pet food, pharmaceuticals and beverage industries.</p> <p>According to Prof NC Saha, Director, IIP Indian packaging industry constitutes about 4% of the global packaging industry. The per capita packaging consumption in India is quite low at 8.7 kgs. He feels that organised retail and boom in e-commerce, which offers huge potential for future growth of retailing, is giving a boost to the packaging sector. The Indian packaging market is expected to reach USD 32 billion by 2020.</p> <p>{googleAdsense}</p> <p>The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will organize a two-day National Conference on "Inno Vision in Packaging" in Hyderabad during March 23-24, 2017.</p> <p>The National Conference would highlight the worldwide innovations in packaging and discuss ways to upgrade packaging standards in packaging materials, technologies, techniques and packaging machines.&nbsp;</p>
