Hinterkopf showcased its innovative and sustainable wine packaging solution at the Metpack exhibition in Essen. Instead of traditional glass bottles, Hinterkopf uses lightweight and eco-friendly aluminium bottles that are easy to transport, making them perfect for on-the-go consumption.

Additionally, the use of modern digital printing enables smaller wineries to create unique and economically attractive packaging concepts. Traditional glass bottles have been a subject of discussion in the wine industry due to their large size and weight, making them unsustainable for long-distance transportation.
Hinterkopf's aluminium bottles offer a more convenient and durable option for mobile consumers, as they are unbreakable and can be cooled down to the desired drinking temperature faster than glass bottles. The packaging also maintains its freshness and quality over time, making it ideal for long-term storage. The company is an expert in manufacturing plastic or aluminium tubes, sleeves and cans.
The managing director of the family-run firm, Alexander Hinterkopf, exclaimed: "With our digital printing technology, winegrowers can easily implement an Individual marketing concept on the bottles - and this is extremely economical because, with digital printing, the costs for decoration are linear."
"The price for printing per bottle is, therefore, always the same, regardless of whether it is a small series or a batch with one million containers. Even the smallest batch sizes for limited editions can, therefore, be produced economically. Even a one-off or a sample container costs no more than a large-quantity bottle. This is particularly attractive for smaller wineries that only produce relatively small quantities from one location," Alexander added.
In addition to its practical advantages, the aluminium packaging is also environmentally friendly and has a high recycling rate. Hinterkopf plans to print around 25 million bottles in cooperation with Spanish winegrowers, with the goal of producing 100 million bottles by the end of 2025. As a result, their packaging solution is an ideal choice for consumers who value quality, sustainability, and convenience.
