Ducab has signed three major contracts in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for the supply of over 5,000 km of cables and all aluminium alloy overhead conductors for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) projects, a company statement said. The company will supply extra-high-voltage (EHV), high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) cables.

The new contracts include the design, manufacturing, and supply of the above specification of cables. They would also supply a range of MV, LV power and control cable systems for the Clean Fuel and Waste-Heat Recovery project that is being delivered through Samsung-CBI. Ducab will also be supplying cables for the Bab Integrated Facility Project, as well as cables and aluminium overhead conductors for Adnoc’s onshore Qusahwira Field Development Phase II Project.

Engineer Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, chairman of Ducab, said: “At our company, we are committed to be the highest-quality global cable manufacturer, providing smart, safe, and environmentally conscious cable solutions across all business sectors for a continually developing modern world.”

He added that Ducab has invested well in developing this full range of cable solutions for OGP (oil, gas and petrochemical) sector which led to their selection as the supplier of power cable requirements for these projects. The company believes OGP sector will drive the demand for aluminium cables and encourage other sectors like property, aviation, industry, health, and education for the transformation. Ducab has been working towards meeting the unique requirements of the OGP sector, both onshore and offshore, while meeting their international quality standards.

Rashed Saud Al Shamsi, director of business and commercial support at, Adnoc, said: “It is important for Adnoc and its major contractors to work with local solution providers like Ducab who prioritize quality, safety and sustainability.”

The company, he said is committed towards sourcing more goods and services locally and employing local people.

“This will support growth and diversification in the UAE, creating more opportunities for both local and international businesses to further participate in Adnoc projects,” he added.

Ducab is helping OGP companies to source its requirements locally without relying on international suppliers for power cabling. Ducab HV has the first dedicated high-voltage and extra-high-voltage power cable manufacturing facility in the Middle East, now operating at the highest voltage used within the region. These contracts have made Ducab an ideal partner for In-Country Value programmes like those being run by Adnoc and other programmes.

Ducab’s PetroBICC cables are designed to meet the most stringent quality standards required in OGP sector. Other than the OGP sector, Ducab has also developed it range of cables, power control instrumentation cables, joints and terminations, and technical services suitable for use across a number of industries.
