According to a recent report, the Q2 2021 premiums for aluminium shipments to Japanese buyers are set at $148-$149 per tonne, which reflect a hike of 14-15 per cent from the March quarter. In Q1 ending on March 31, 2021, the premiums were agreed at $139-$140, an increase of 57-59 per cent from the previous quarter. European Union imposes up to 31.2% anti-dumping duties on Chinese aluminium extrusions
The European Union has reportedly imposed duties on Chinese aluminium products after determining the materials being sold at unfairly low prices. The news came on Tuesday, March 30, after the EU official journal announced that duties to be imposed on Chinese aluminium extrusions in the form of bars, rods, profiles or tubes by the European Commission would range between 21.2 per cent and 31.2 per cent. These tariffs are lower than the provisional duties of 30.4 per cent to 48 per cent levied midway through the anti-dumping investigation, which opened in February 2020 following a complaint from industry body European Aluminium.
