Aluminium Billet

The most important characteristic that distinguishes aluminium from other metals is likely its formability. For this reason, it serves a variety of purposes in architecture, industry, automotive, rail systems, energy and the aviation and aerospace industries. Aluminium is divided into different alloy classes based on its intended use. 

Aluminium billet are used in the extrusion process and they offer aluminium billets in 6005, 6060, 6063 and 6082 alloys in accordance with EN AW standards, with diameters of 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 inches.

6060:

The 6060 aluminium alloy utilizes silicon and magnesium as alloying elements. Aluminium 6060 is known for its weldability, heat treatment and corrosion resistance. The primary uses of aluminium 6060 are interior and exterior architectural applications. This alloy can be successfully used for aluminium extrusion processes. Its premium quality allows for the creation of complex shapes with smooth surfaces, suitable for angles, corners, external corners, bars and visible elements of architectural ornamentation. It is also preferred for window and door frames, lighting products and signage, as well as for the production of piping and furniture applications.

6063:

Aluminium alloy 6063 utilizes silicon and magnesium as alloying elements. Aluminium 6063 is known for its weldability, heat treatment and corrosion resistance. The primary uses of aluminium 6063 are interior and exterior architectural applications. Another valuable feature of this alloy is its successful use in aluminium extrusion processes. It is also used for window and door frames, lighting products and signage, as well as for the production of piping and furniture applications.

6005:

6005 aluminium alloy is a widely used type within the 6XXX Al-Mg-Si alloy class. It has higher tensile strength and tempering properties than 6063. It is a preferred alloy for machinable parts. It is preferred over 6082 because it allows for the production of more difficult and protruding profiles that cannot be produced with 6082, and its surface quality is superior to that of 6082.

6082:

6082 aluminium alloy is preferred for its corrosion resistance, welding and machining. Its higher Mg content, compared to the 6063 series, increases its temper class and tensile strength. Common applications include shipbuilding, automotive and industrial applications, where machining is required and high strength is required.
