Sohar Aluminium Company, the first aluminium smelter in the Sultanate of Oman, will reportedly finance the construction of a building for Takaful Suhar Social Charity Team in Suhar, North Batinah. The news came on Sunday, February 11, after Sohar Aluminium inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Charity Team.
As per the report, the financing would include the construction of a four-floor residential as well as commercial building based on the approved design. The structure will span approximately 406 square metres and expected to be completed within a year. This building will not only transform the cityscape but symbolise the partnership between Sohar Aluminium and Takaful Suhar Social Charity Team.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed bin Mohammed al Kharusi, General Manager of HR and Corporate Affairs at Sohar Aluminium, and Abdulmunim bin Mohammed al Murshidi, CEO of Takaful Suhar Social Charity Team, in presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Busaidi, Wali of Suhar, H E Abdullah bin Ali al Balushi, Member of Majlis A’Shura from Suhar, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Balushi, Deputy Wali of Suhar, and other dignitaries.
"This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting the communities within our concession area," said Ahmed bin Mohammed al Kharusi. "We believe that by investing in this project, we are not only contributing to the development of Suhar but also helping to ensure the sustainability of Takaful Suhar's vital social and charitable activities."
Abdulmunim bin Mohammed al Murshidi said: “The revenue generated from this building will enable us to expand our reach and help more individuals in need. We are grateful for Sohar Aluminium's support and look forward to working together to make a difference in our community."
