In accordance with Japan's Industrial Standards (JIS) outlined in JIS H 4000, AMAG's aluminium products have once again been awarded the coveted "JIS Mark Scheme" certification. This recognition reaffirms AMAG's reputation as a top-tier supplier known for delivering high-quality and dependable products, showcasing their strong dedication to the Japanese market. Notably, AMAG became the first European aluminium producer to receive the JIS seal of approval back in 2020, a testament to their unwavering commitment to meeting the most stringent international quality standards.
AMAG has been granted the JIS certificate by the esteemed Japanese Quality Assurance (JQA), which serves as a significant opportunity to diversify its product portfolio for the Japanese market. This certification is particularly crucial for areas where compliance is mandatory. Primarily recognized for its aluminium sheets and plates used in rail vehicle manufacturing, AMAG's products from Ranshofen will now find new avenues in architecture, automotive, and semiconductor industries due to the possibilities unlocked by the JIS certificate.
This recertification, conducted as part of a thorough audit encompassing material tests, remains valid for an additional three-year period.
Gerald Mayer, the Chairman of the Board of Austria Metall AG, said, "The certification, according to the Japanese industry standard, which is outstanding in an international comparison, confirms our high level of quality and reliability for our customers outside Japan as well. Several years ago, we were the first European aluminium producer to be recognized for our commitment in Japan and are therefore particularly proud of our recertification."
