Specifically, how to move a long position forward in time using borrowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Moving a Long Position: From April to March<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imagine you are currently long in April but need to be long in March instead. To achieve this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Buy March<\/strong> \u2013 This establishes your new anticipated position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sell April<\/strong> \u2013 This closes your current long position in April.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Why sell April? Because closing a futures position requires doing the opposite of the original action for the same contract date.
