Aluminium scrap remains a significant resource to be used as raw material to produce secondary aluminium and subsequently new aluminium products. . The country exports about 400,000 tons of aluminium scrap every year. Italy consumes the largest chunk of aluminium scrap export by France.
{alcircleadd}Earlier reports have showed that the aluminium scrap export has seen a decline in the country. Many scrap dealers have reported more than adequate stock levels. In 2017, the aluminium scrap export by the country is expected to rise.
According to the recent estimate, in 2015, France exported 482483 tonnes of aluminium scrap worldwide. Compared to 2015, in 2016, the country exported an estimated 451628 tonnes of aluminium scrap. The aluminium scrap export by France is estimated to increase steadily in 2017. The country is estimated to export around 486661 tonnes of aluminium scrap.
In 2015, the total revenue from the export was US$ 590.54 million. The country generated revenue of approximately US$ 472.33 million from the export of aluminium scrap in 2016. In 2017, the revenue from export is estimated to be about US$ 505.42 million.

In 2016, Italy alone imported 109227 tonnes of aluminium scrap from France. The country exported around 98467 tonnes and 78781 tonnes of aluminium scrap to Spain and Belgium respectively.
