Aluminium scraps generated in Saudi Arabia comes from consumers, industries, and demolition sites across the country. The country exports its substantial amount of aluminium scrap to India.

{alcircleadd}Saudi Arabia exports about 210,000 tonnes of aluminium scraps. Apart from India, the country exports aluminium scrap to Pakistan, South Korea, Brazil and USA. With the development of new smelters and expansions, more secondary re-melting opportunities will arise in the GCC countries and till then Saudi Arabia would remain a net exporter of aluminium scrap.
According to the recent estimate, in 2015, Saudi Arabia exported 170120 tonnes of aluminium scrap globally. The total revenue from the export stood at US$ 278.84 million. Compared to 2015, in 2016, the country exported an estimated 173887 tonnes of aluminium scrap. The total revenue from the export was US$ 242.90 million.
Considering the trend in last two years the aluminium scrap export by Saudi Arabia is estimated to increase sharply in 2017. The country is estimated to export around 193358 tonnes of aluminium scrap and the revenue from export is estimated to be about US$ 439.76 million.

In 2016, India alone imported 118885 tonnes of aluminium scrap from Saudi Arabia. The country exported around 15031 tonnes and 11685 tonnes of aluminium scrap to South Korea and Pakistan respectively.
