An American multinational technology company Apple released its annual environmental responsibility report on Thursday, April 20, stating the company’s intention of ending reliance on mining altogether and instead shifting to recycled aluminium for making its gadgets.
{alcircleadd}According to the company’s research, apple’s old products should be the source of recycled aluminium rather than from recycling facilities. This recycled aluminium offers high grade that is needed for making gadgets.
Apple wrote, "Traditional supply chains are linear. Materials are mined, manufactured as products, and often end up in landfills after use. Then the process starts over and more materials are extracted from the earth for new products.”
"We believe our goal should be a closed-loop supply chain, where products are built using only renewable resources or recycled material."

The company has been encouraging its buyers to return used products for recycling. They have already meted down iPhone aluminium enclosures to create mini computers used in its factories. They have not mention the amount of recycled products currently being used in its gadgets though.
