China’s alumina spot price maintains upward trajectory, gains RMB28/t; SMM A00 aluminium ingot price surges by 9% Y-o-Y

China’s average alumina spot price has shown bullish trend for the past few days, with it securing RMB 28 per tonne today, to close at RMB 3,390 per tonne. The alumina prices in Guizhou and Guangxi have both risen by RMB 40 per tonne to close at RMB 3,395 per tonne and RMB 3,435 per tonne. The alumina prices in Shanxi and Bayuquan have gained RMB 30 per tonne to close at RMB 3,370 per tonne and RMB 3,430 per tonne.

Also, Shandong and Lianyungang have marked a growth of RMB 20 per tonne to rest at RMB 3,360 per tonne and RMB 3,325 per tonne. In Henan, the alumina price has scored RMB 15 per tonne to park at RMB 3,400 per tonne. The Australian alumina FOB price has skipped US$10 per tonne upward to officially close at US$390 per tonne.

Today, on April 26, the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price has escalated by RMB 120 per tonne to close at RMB 20,430 per tonne. On a Year-on-Year scale there has been an expansion of RMB 1,680 per tonne or 9 per cent from RMB 18,750 per tonne recorded on April 26, last year.

The eight main provinces in China have all displayed a massive influx in aluminium prices, with the highest growth of RMB120 per tonne recorded in Gongyi and Chongqing, where the ingot prices stood at RMB 20,370 per tonne and RMB 20,380 per tonne, respectively. In Wuxi and Hangzhou, the aluminium prices halted at RMB 20,420 per tonne, adding RMB 110 per tonne each. The aluminium prices in Foshan and Shenyang both increased by RMB 100 per tonne to officiate at RMB 20,360 per tonne and RMB 20,350 per tonne. In Linyi, the aluminium price stood at RMB 20,460 per tonne with a spike of RMB 90 per tonne, while the aluminium price in Tianjin closed at RMB 20,380 per tonne after gaining RMB 70 per tonne.

China’s low carbon aluminium price settled at RMB 21,425 per tonne, surging by RMB 119 per tonne.

China’s aluminium alloy (A356) price and aluminium alloy (A360) price have increased by RMB 100 per tonne and RMB 150 per tonne, respectively, to close at RMB 21,000 per tonne and RMB 21,250 per tonne.

China’s high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have both levitated by RMB 100 per tonne to officiate at RMB 27,800 per tonne and RMB 28,800 per tonne.
