The Body Shop opened a new store at Rushden Lakes on Thursday, June 29. The Wildlife Trust's Nathan Long cut the green ribbon at 10:30 a.m. to officially open the doors of the British beauty brand in Garden Square.
The new store has one of The Body Shop's Refill Stations, which is available at selected stores globally. The scheme encourages customers to help clean up the planet by offering aluminium bottles that can be filled with refillable haircare, shower gel, or hand wash favourites. Customers can then repeat the process once they finish using the products.

Using aluminium for the company's flagship aluminium bottles will curtail ample carbon footprints along the production line and help create a closed material loop.
The Centre Manager at Rushden Lakes, Donna French, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome The Body Shop to Rushden Lakes, and to expand our beauty offering for our customers. The new store looks incredible, and we can’t wait to see our customers reactions.”
The friendly Body Shop team, dressed in green aprons, welcomed their first visitors who had been eagerly waiting since 9 a.m. to explore haircare, makeup, skincare, and more. The first 200 customers who spent £25 or more in-store received a goodie bag worth £20. Limited edition fragrances, Luscious Lychee & Zesty Lime Blossom, were also available for purchase. Customers who spent £35 or more received a tote bag and treats as part of The Body Shop's festival event.
The opening of The Body Shop at Rushden Lakes cements the destination as a Northamptonshire hotspot for beauty and skincare shopping. It joins an impressive lineup of similar brands, including Boots, L'Occitane, and Superdrug. Additionally, furry friends are allowed in the store, as The Body Shop joins the list of dog-friendly stores at Rushden Lakes.
