Demand for automotive lithium-ion batteries is expected to increase for automotive lithium-ion batteries in China, spurring a sharp rise in demand for aluminium battery foil.

“In response to this demand growth, Ruyuan Dongyangguang UACJ Fine Aluminum Foil Co., Ltd. is conducting capital investment, constructing a structure for the integrated production of foil stock, current collectors and foil for battery exteriors. As a result, the Group aims to provide a timely supply of high-quality lithium-ion battery foil within China,” UACJ said its press release.

With a third production base in China, the Group will establish a three-pronged global battery foil production system that will supplement its production in Japan and Malaysia. The 10,000 ton per year plant is scheduled to start production in 2020.

Ruyuan Dongyangguang UACJ Fine Aluminum Foil Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer and seller of  flat rolled aluminium products in China.
