Emirates Global Aluminium, the world's largest producer of 'premium aluminium', with smelters in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, proudly announces the graduation of over 150 young employees from its innovative learning and development platform, FURSA, within its inaugural year of launch.

FURSA, a dynamic initiative spearheaded by the EGA Youth Council in collaboration with the Learning and Development team, is a robust platform offering curated courses and immersive experiences tailored to bolster leadership, Industry 4.0, sustainability, science, and technology skills.
"Upskilling and empowering the next generation of leaders at EGA is key to future-proofing our business and enhancing our competitiveness. At EGA, alongside our Learning and Development team, our Youth Council is heavily engaged in this work. FURSA reflects their commitment to providing excellent capability building and career opportunities as part of fulfilling EGA's our bold aspiration to become a talent driven organisation," said Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium.
This pioneering programme features a spectrum of 26 academic courses sourced from esteemed institutions, including Harvard, Oxford, and the London Business School, alongside a diverse array of customised experiences encompassing volunteering and collaborative endeavours. FURSA is exclusively designed for EGA employees under 35, providing them with invaluable opportunities for growth and development.
FURSA expands upon EGA's extensive Learning & Development program, which already encompasses 2,300 diverse training courses. In 2023 alone, EGA employees collectively dedicated over 61,400 days to learning and development activities, reflecting an impressive average of over 10 days per employee.
The EGA Youth Council's dedication and innovation were recognised with the prestigious Organization of the Year for Youth Empowerment at the GCC GOV HR Awards 2023. This accolade not only celebrates their achievements but also underscores EGA's commitment to nurturing tomorrow's leaders, in line with the UAE's National Youth Strategy.
Hala Alhashmi, Chair of EGA Youth Council and a product owner in the digital transformation & industry 4.0 department, stated, "FURSA is a unique platform, developed by young EGA employees for young EGA employees. It provides us as youth with a variety of learning opportunities to expand our knowledge, develop new skills, and gain valuable experience. Finding effective ways to develop the leaders of tomorrow requires the engagement of everyone, including young people themselves."
