Aldel aluminium smelter in the Oosterhorn industrial area near Farmsum in Delfzijl was put into operation by the then Royal Blast Furnaces in 1966. Aldel is the last company in the Netherlands to make aluminium. The craft factory had some difficult years. Under the leadership of a new investor, the great drive when it comes to innovations in energy, electricity and logistics can be redesigned. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable, making it the perfect material to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy. Adel's aluminium is suitable for the automotive industry, energy sector and construction i.e. Tesla, iPhone, etc.
The national knowledge and experiences of CLAFIS within the industry make the engineering firm an interesting partner for Aldel. Moreover, the broad expertise within the chemical sector directly matches the needs of the aluminium smelter. The decisive factor in choosing CLAFIS is the regional presence in the North. This ensures that the engineering firm can be close to Aldel's needs. The short and personal lines are crucial in the partnership.
The Food, Pharma and Chemicals sector is one of the three national focus sectors of CLAFIS. Clafists Dolf Eggink and René Hoekstra are very closely involved in the partnership.
Dolf said: “Aldel is an important partner in the Northern Netherlands. The service and culture of the company fit very well with CLAFIS and the many different services and disciplines that we have to offer. We like to work with Aldel on her drive in development and strive for the greenest and most profitable business. ”
