
The 8th International Aluminum Congress, which is taking place on September 3 and 5, simultaneously with ExpoAlumínio – International Aluminum Exhibition, at São Paulo Expo, would highlight the theme “Global Trends on aluminium and the insertion of Brazil in this scenario.” Under the Associação Brasileira do Alumínio – ABAL [Brazilian Aluminum Association] curatorship, the congress would host professionals from the Brazilian and global industry, academy representatives, researchers and students.

The three days of the Congress will approach the global and national scenario, presenting Brazil and the global market, trends and technical discussions with the presence of exponential speakers and companies. More than 50 Keynote Speakers have confirmed their presentations during the three days of the Congress.
“It’s not easy to find a Congress in Latin America with the high quality of keynote speakers and content we have, especially when we talk about Aluminium. We´re delighted to deliver this project with an impressive presence of relevant brands such as CRU, Metal Bulletin, Platts, Delloite, Mintel, Euromonitor, Ford, GM, Volkswagen, Embraer, Mercedes-Benz and Nespresso”, says Milton Rego, Deputy President of ABAL.
The Congress will also welcome speakers from World Aluminium, European Aluminium, Australian Aluminium Council, European Aluminum Foil Association and governmental institutions of Brazil.
The Open Ceremony takes place on Monday, September 3, 10:30 AM, at the Foyer of the Main Building of São Paulo Expo.
The project “Aluminum House – an experience in architecture, art and design” will be launched during event of the Aluminum segment, to show the ways in which the metal is present in life. An accomplishment of the Ministry of Culture with approval by ABAL and sponsored by Alcoa, Companhia Brasileira do Alumínio (CBA), Hydro and Novelis, the unprecedented project will be exhibited for the first time during ExpoAlumínio 2018.

Another feature of the project is to show how aluminium is present in the production of works of art, as raw material, work or matrix. Artistic productions by artists Maria Bonomi, Hans Günter Flieg, Paulo Bordhin, Vicente Nu, Osni Branco, Hugo Curti, Tatiana Stropp, Silvia Ruiz, Regis Ribeiro, Mafê de Biaggi, Fabricio de Petta Barbosa, Marcelo Theodoro and Marianne Arnone will be exhibited.
“The objective of Aluminum House is to show through art, design and architecture ways in which aluminum is present in these applications, establishing an aesthetic and leading-edge differential, whether for its appearance, or the unique characteristic that this metal affords in building the items”, explains the cultural director of Aluminum House, Flavio Enninger.
