FIT Group, a unique provider of industrial additive manufacturing (AM), enhanced its capacity to develop proprietary software solutions by commissioning its fully owned subsidiary FIT Additive S.R.L. in Brasov, Romania.
{alcircleadd}Additive manufacturing can improve the form and function of many products for the automotive, construction, designing and industrial sector. Redesigning, as extensive as a new design concept is very often required to achieve AM’s full potential. FIT is automatizing and standardizing the AM workflow in order to provide these new AM designs in a cost-effective manner. This project is a part of FIT’s plan to expand its software development capabilities.
FIT is currently developing a proprietary software solution for a lot size of one, however, unless different parts are combined in the same lot, it is challenging to optimize cost. So the company is planning to coordinate AM processes globally and in real time through its software. This will provide the highest level of quality assurance in a cost effective manner on an industrial scale globally.
Commenting on the commissioning, Dr. Andreas Ziegler, Head of Research and Development at FIT said, “Thanks to our new Romanian subsidiary, we will accelerate our software development process by more than 300%. A strategic advantage of being located in the university town of Brasov is, we have access to many highly skilled software engineers.”
“As a lesser known international company, our strategy was to choose a prestigious office location in Brasov to attract top talent. This is the beginning of our long-term commitment to Romania. We are delighted to welcome Ovidio Lupo to our team, who has proven to be a highly experienced software development manager,” added AG. Carl Fruth; Founder and CEO, FIT AG.
