The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) has identified land sought by Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani) for its proposed aluminium alloy plant. The district administration has considered a strectch of land at Bodduvaripalem in Kodavalur mandal in the district of Nellore.
The Hyderabad based specialized metals and metal alloys manufacturer had approached AP government for suitable land in the state to establish a high-end aluminium alloy plant.
{alcircleadd}Reports have it that the proposed unit, if becomes a reality, will be the first defence manufacturing facility outside Hyderabad.
Midhani is forming a joint venture with the Navaratna PSU National Aluminium Company (Nalco) to build the plant that will produce high-end aluminium products, otherwise imported.
The company is planning to pump in INR 2,500-3,000 crore as an initial investment for the project.

The state infrastructure development authority has disclosed names of other Indian PSEs who have also sought land to establish their manufacturing units in the state. The new units proposed by these companies and Midhani will be “boon” for the district as they would help improve the overall profile of the district significantly, said a senior APIIC official.
