According to the latest Aluminum Association report, shipments of Aluminium Powder and Paste to domestic markets by domestic producers, including imports by domestic producers stood at 7.08 million pounds during April 2017, an increase of 57% YOY. On a month on month comparison, shipments rose 3.9% over the March 2017 total of 6.82 million pounds. YTD shipments through April 2017 stood at 25.94 million pounds, up 12.7% over the 2016 YTD total of 23.02 million pounds. Compared to April 2016, shipments of aluminium powder to domestic markets increased 80.5% to 6.17 million pounds, while shipments of paste were off 16.6% to 0.92 million pounds.
{alcircleadd}Estimated shipments of Aluminium Forgings and Impacts by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 31.2 million pounds during April 2017, an increase of 21.4% over the April 2016 total of 25.7 million pounds. On a month on month comparison, shipments were off 4.7 % from the March 2017 total of 32.8 million pounds. YTD shipments through April 2017 stood at 123.8 million pounds, up 17.4% over the 2016 YTD total of 105.5 million pounds.
Shipments of Aluminum Extruded Products (extruded shapes, pipe & tube, and rod & bar) by U.S. and Canadian producers dropped 3.9% YoY to an estimated 432.9 million pounds during April 2017. On a month on month comparison, shipments decreased 8.1% from the March 2017 revised total of 471.2 million pounds. YTD shipments through April 2017 stood at 1,751.8 million pounds, slightly off from the same period of 2016

Estimated shipments of Aluminum Drawing Stock, Bare Wire and Rod & Bar by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 96.3 million pounds during April 2017, off 6.7% YoY. On a month on month comparison, shipments decreased 12.8% from the March 2017 total of 110.5 million pounds. YTD shipments through April 2017 stood at 417.3 million pounds, up 5.8% over the 2016 YTD total of 394.4 million pounds.
