India’s Navaratna public sector enterprise and leading integrated aluminium producer National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has strengthened its value-added portfolio. The company started production of AA 3105 aluminium alloy comprising aluminium, manganese, and magnesium at its rolling plant in the smelter division.
{alcircleadd}NALCO CMD Tapan Kumar Chand said, “With this product, NALCO will be widening its base in value-added products and also be an active partner in the Make in India movement.”
The new product A3105 aluminium alloy is expected to find a solid market in the electrical components and consumption market, initially within Odisha, facilitating revenue generation in the GST regime, reported a leading daily.

With the new product launch NALCO takes the right step ahead toward downstream aluminium manufacturing, which holds great prospects in India. Further, the move is in line with the country’s estimated aluminium consumption which will reach 5 million tonnes by 2020.
