Aluminium processors based in Gongyi of Henan in China is experiencing another round of environmental protection checks. Shanghai Metals market learnt that the central inspection team will be there at the place conducting the inspections from July 5-10.
Gongyi, a hub of China’s major aluminium rolling plants saw a number of local aluminium wire drawing plants and triphase wire plants not having any production license closing in the wake of these government initiated inspections.
{alcircleadd}However, the impact of these environmental protection checks on wire and cable industry is thought to be a limited one due to the limited aluminium wire drawing capacity in the region, SMM observed.

Alarmed by the Chinese government’s recent initiatives to clamp down illegal and pollution causing manufacturing units, many local aluminium plate, sheet, strip manufacturers and aluminium foil producers completed upgrade of their coal-fired devices to natural gas-powered ones and obtained environmental protection clearences.
So, the ongoing checks is likely to have little impact on the local aluminium processors and aluminium plate, sheet, strip manufacturers, SMM noted.
