In preparation of Gränges acquisition of Noranda’s downstream aluminium rolling operations in the United States, Patrick Lawlor has been appointed President Americas of Gränges, effective 22 August, 2016. He will replace Daniel Daoust, who will take on the role of Vice President Sales & Marketing Automotive for the Americas. Patrick Lawlor will be a member of Gränges Group Management Team reporting to Gränges’ CEO Johan Menckel.

Patrick Lawlor has extensive experience from the aluminium industry, most recently at Sapa Group, where he was President Americas for Sapa Extrusions from 2010 to 2015. He successfully managed the integration of Sapa’s acquisition of the US Indalex Group during 2009-2010, while being a CFO of Sapa Extrusions North America. Before joining the Sapa Group, Patrick Lawlor was CFO of Indalex from 2007-2009 and held several managerial positions within Norsk Hydro from 1997-2007.
Scott Croft has been appointed COO of Gränges Americas, effective at closing of the transaction. Scott Croft is currently President Flat Rolled Products and Commercial Officer at Noranda Aluminum.
The US Bankruptcy Court has approved Gränges acquisition of Noranda Aluminum Holding Corporation’s (“Noranda”) downstream aluminium rolling business in the United States. When completed the transaction will double Gränges sales volume and strengthen its position in North America. Further, Gränges will add a number of strategic and attractive market segments in rolled aluminium. Through the acquisition, Gränges’ business is significantly strengthened, creating very good opportunities for continued profitable growth. The transaction is expected to close on 22 August, 2016.
