Chinese power transformer and other equipment manufacturer TBEA has expressed intentions to exploit the bauxite mined and left behind by the global mining company BHB Billiton in Guinea.

A business delegation from China comprising TBEA executives met Guinea’s environment, waters and forestry minister Mrs. Aissatou BALDE this week and shared their plans.
The office of the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Guinea published a report in this regard on their website.

TBEA plans to set up their base in Fria, Lower Guinea. The company would build a deepwater port and supplementary infrastructure for transporting bauxite from the region, the report said.
