Indonesia loaded the first shipment of bauxite to Lubei Group after the government lifted ban on bauxite export. The ship is loaded with 56,000 tonnes of high-quality bauxite mined from West Kalimantan. It is expected to be arrived within 9 days, as reported by Shanghai Metals Market.

In 2014, Indonesia imposed a banned on exporting bauxite and other ore in order to improve domestic processing. Indonesia government operated 32 mineral processing and refining corporations from 2012 to 2016 with the total sum of investment of USD20 billion in smelting industries.
