The exports of bauxite in Brazil rose in June following 1.6 per cent year-on-year drop in the fourth quarter of the last financial year ending 31st March 2017. Bauxite export in June totalled 906,881 tonnes, up 9.3 per cent from the same period previous year.

{alcircleadd}ABx’s Binjour bauxite resources review poised to progress to the next step
Australian Bauxite Limited (ABx) recently updated its investors on the review of bauxite resources at Binjour saying that the project is soon to step into its next logical level. According to the company, Rawmin Mining and Industries Pvt. Ltd, the marketing partner of ABx, has requested to make advancement with the review that began in May.
The scope of the Binjour bauxite resources review includes a mining lease at Toondoon, located one hundred miles from the port city Bundaberg in central Queensland. The lease having an estimated bauxite reserve of 3.5 million metric tonnes may see commencement of bauxite production even prior to full approval of the operations at Binjour.
Rio’s Amrun bauxite project close to completion
Rio Tinto has almost reached the completion of its 2.6 billion Amrun bauxite project which is located in north Queensland. The company’s $2.6 billion project is complete by one third and the first production is expected to start in the first half of 2019.

IBAAS provides opportunity to explore the possibility of mining in Guinea, says the Convener
Dr. Ashok Nandi, the Convener for IBAAS Conference, recently told Mining Weekly that Guinea hosts largest bauxite deposits, and the fastest-developing bauxite mining and export centres, and hence, it was selected as the venue for IBAAS this year.
