RUSAL’s bauxite output in Q4 2016 drops 11.5%; full year output on the rise

UC RUSAL, the leading global integrated aluminium producer, announces its operating results for the fourth quarter 2016 and full year 2016 registering bullish progress in all three business segments: bauxite, alumina and aluminium. In Q4 2016, Rusal’s total bauxite output totaled 2,841 thousand tons which shows a drop of 11.5% QoQ. For the full year 2016, bauxite output totalled 12,187 thousand tons registering a 0.6% increase YOY


Nalco's Panchpatmali Bauxite Mines conferred with 5-star rating by Ministry of Mines

National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) owned Panchpatmali Bauxite Mines in Odisha has been accredited with the 5-Star Rating by the India Ministry of Mines in a stringent evaluation process conducted up by IBM.

Ghana government plans private investment in bauxite mining to transform economy

Ghana is on its way to revive the economy. The country on the West Africa's Gulf of Guniea is considering further unleashing its mineral resource potential to transform the economy through development of industries and job creation. Ghana President, Nana Akufo-Addo said bauxite deposits at Kyebi and Nyinahin will be mined to manufacture machine parts within the country.

Rio Tinto awards $45 mln contract to Fulton Hogan for Amrun bauxite project

Rio Tinto has awarded a contract valued at $45 million to the Queensland division of civil construction company Fulton Hogan. The company will build a dam supplying water to the world-class Amrun bauxite project in Western Cape York Queensland, Australia.

GAC grants Fluor the contract for its under-construction bauxite mine

Guinea Alumina Corporation S.A. (GAC), a bauxite mining company, a subsidiary of Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), yesterday announced that the company granted an engineering and program management consultancy contract worth $700 million to Fluor for its under-construction bauxite mine in the Boke region of Guinea, Africa.

India's National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) today announced its financial results for the third quarter ended 31st December 2016.  Production-wise Nalco posted a remarkable growth in the periods under review. During the nine-months period ended December 2016, the company achieved production of 53.23 lakh tonnes of bauxite, up 16 per cent from the comparable period of the last financial year.
